EEOC gets record settlement

The Equal Employment and Opportunity Commission has reached a record-setting settlement with California-based military contractor Lockheed Martin Corp, which agreed to pay $2.5 million in a racial discrimination case.

The settlement represents the largest payout to any individual in a discrimination claim filed by the EEOC. The employee, Charles Daniels, claimed he was called derogatory names and threatened because of his race when he worked for the company in Hawaii, Washington and Florida. More from Reuters.
