Holder makes history

ericholder1After all the stops and starts and delays since President Barack Obama picked Eric Holder to head the Justice Department, the Senate confirmed Holder Monday. He will be sworn in today, making him the nation’s first black attorney general.

Every senator who voted against Holder’s confirmation in the 75-21 vote last night was Republican. But more than a dozen GOP members voted in favor of Holder weeks after his nomination hit a speed bump over questions about his involvement in former President Clinton’s pardon of billionaire fugitive Marc Rich, whose wife was a major campaign contributor.
